Doing or Being

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.  – Galatians 5:22-23

All too often, we are measured by what we do for a living, rather than measured for being who we are. How often do we (especially men) embrace the qualities of the Fruit of the Spirit?  Not often. Because these qualities don't fit in with the world of competitive sports, business or other measures of success. We think / we are taught that our value is determined solely by our achievements and measured against the standards of the world.

What are you teaching your children and grandchildren?  Are you reinforcing the world's view of success, or the Biblical view?

Following and Seeking,
Dean

You go nowhere by accident. Wherever you go, God is sending you, wherever you are, God has put you there; He has a purpose in your being there. Christ who dwells within you has something He wants to do through you wherever you are. Believe this and go in His grace and love and power.
